Introducing the A321 Neo by Flight Sim Labs
FlightSimLabs is proud to announce the release of our highly anticipated A321 Neo for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Developed with exceptional attention to detail, this next-generation airliner delivers an unmatched level of realism, immersion, and system depth for MSFS 2020/2024 users. Built to harness the full potential of Microsoft Flight Simulator’s technology, the A321 Neo combines stunning visuals with authentic handling and advanced features for flight sim enthusiasts of all levels. We’re also excited to include the A321 Long Range (LR) variant as part of this release, expanding your operational possibilities and bringing even more versatility to your virtual fleet.
The A321LR is engineered for extended-range operations, making it ideal for simulating transcontinental and even transatlantic routes. With additional fuel capacity, modified performance parameters, and unique configuration options, the LR variant offers a distinctly different experience while retaining the exceptional system fidelity and immersive quality you’ve come to expect from FlightSimLabs.
What is the Neo?
The “NEO” in A321 Neo stands for “New Engine Option”, representing a major upgrade over the earlier “CEO” or “Current Engine Option” versions of the A320 family. Introduced by Airbus in 2010, the Neo program aimed to increase fuel efficiency, reduce noise, and lower emissions – key improvements achieved primarily through the use of next-generation engines (such as the Pratt & Whitney PW1100G-JM and CFM LEAP-1A) and aerodynamic enhancements, including new large sharklet wingtip devices. The A321 Neo specifically is the largest and most capable member of the A320 family, offering increased range, improved performance, and higher passenger capacity than its predecessor, making it an attractive option for airlines seeking single-aisle efficiency on longer routes.
In our simulation of the A321 Neo, we’ve captured the full range of technological and operational advancements that define the NEO generation. From the sophisticated engine behavior and extended range capabilities to the refined flight deck systems and fuel management logic, every aspect has been modeled to reflect the real-world aircraft in detail. Performance characteristics such as reduced fuel burn, longer takeoff runs under heavy load, and improved climb profiles are accurately replicated. Combined with a fully featured cabin, updated cockpit avionics featuring newer FWC and SDAC modules, and integration of modern airline operations systems, the Flight Sim Labs A321 Neo delivers a high-fidelity experience true to the spirit and innovation of the NEO program.
Staged Rollout of Our A321neo Now Underway

We’re excited to announce that we are staging the rollout of our A321neo product line in two phases to ensure a smooth delivery and thorough testing process.
Phase One focuses on the A321-251N and A321-251NX equipped with the CFM LEAP-1A32 engines, along with the A321-252N and A321-252NX powered by the LEAP-1A30, and the A321-253N and A321-253NX featuring the LEAP-1A33 engine variant.
Phase Two, which is currently undergoing final testing, will follow shortly and will include the A321-271N and A321-271NX powered by the Pratt & Whitney 1133G-JM engines, as well as the A321-272N and A321-272NX equipped with the 1130G-JM engine.
We chose to split the rollout into two distinct phases to streamline development, testing, and delivery – ensuring the highest quality experience for our customers. Phase Two will be delivered as a free update to all A321neo users and is expected to arrive within the next few weeks.
Key Features of the FSLabs A321 Neo
Multiple Engine Variants Simulated:
- Phase one includes full support for CFM LEAP-1A30, -1A32, and -1A33 engines, each modeled with precise performance profiles, startup behavior, thrust response, and fuel efficiency characteristics.
- Phase two, currently in testing, includes the Pratt and Whitney GTF engine models – included in a free update
Both A321-251N and A321-251NX Variants Included:
- Faithful representation of both standard and Airbus Cabin Flex (ACF) configurations:
- A321-251N with four full-sized main cabin doors (L1–L4)
- A321-251NX (ACF) with Airbus Cabin Flex configuration – featuring two overwing exits per side, relocated aft doors, and greater flexibility for high-density seating arrangements
A321 NEO LR Support with Additional Centre Tanks (ACTs):
- Simulates the A321 NEO LR with up to three ACTs, allowing for extended-range operations. Full fuel logic includes accurate ACT usage sequencing, center tank prioritisation, and realistic refueling and transfer behavior.
DRAIMS – Digital Radio and Audio Integrating Management System:
- Fully modeled DRAIMS (Digital Radio and Audio Integrating Management System), managing the aircraft’s audio and radio communication environment. This includes seamless interaction with VHF radios, audio selectors, intercom functionality, and PA systems – faithfully reproducing the modern Airbus audio suite and allowing pilots to configure and manage communications as they would in the real aircraft.
High-Fidelity Flight Performance Model:
- Features a newly developed aerodynamic and engine model tuned to operate within tight margins of real-world performance data, including accurate takeoff/landing performance, climb profiles, and cruise fuel flow.
Custom Engine Sound set:
- Authentic, newly developed sounds for the LEAP-1A engine family, including interior and exterior environments, startup/shutdown, windmilling, and APU/bleed interaction, with accurate audio transitions and spatial placement.
